Children ages 4 years to 4th grade are invited to attend Sunday School classes, and children and youth ages 5th grade and up are welcome to participate in the Youth Group classes, during the Sunday Reading Service.
Seattle Center of Self-Realization Fellowship offers Sunday School classes each Sunday from 11-12 am for children 3-14. The classes are combined at this time, with a meditation in the main service offered to the older children and then sharing in the SS classroom for the rest of the hour. New parents are encouraged to bring their children and observe awhile. We would be glad to answer questions and a short introduction to the philosophy of the Sunday School.
Children under 3 stay with their parents in the listening room adjacent to the main lecture hall.
Paramahansa Yogananda was very fond of children and took the education of them very seriously and lovingly. He started a school in Ranchi India before he came to America with "How To Live" classes with an emphasis on living a balanced and God centered life. Classes were taught to all ages of children, including college age. Many of them were taught outside, and energization exercises were encouraged as they are in the Seattle Center Sunday School.
